AEX 25 Index Trading Hours & Best Sessions
Market hours: 01:15 UTC Monday — 22:00 UTC Friday
The AEX 25 Index (NED25) is accessible for over 100 hours each week, running from 01:15 UTC Monday through 22:00 UTC Friday — yet fewer than 8 of those hours consistently deliver the tightest spreads and highest volume. Knowing which session you're trading in isn't a minor detail; it's the difference between entering at 0.5 points or 3 points of spread.

1AEX 25 Index Market Sessions: What Each Window Means
The NED25 trading day splits into three distinct sessions.
Pre-Market (01:15–07:00 UTC): Asian and early European participants are active, but AEX-specific liquidity is thin. Amsterdam's Euronext exchange hasn't opened yet, so price discovery is driven by futures positioning and overnight sentiment from Wall Street's close. Volume is typically 60–70% below the Regular session average.
Regular Session (07:00–15:30 UTC): This is the core window. Euronext Amsterdam officially opens at 09:00 CET (08:00 UTC), which means the first 90 minutes of the Regular session builds toward the true open. By 09:00 CET, institutional orders flood in — earnings releases, index rebalancing, and macro data reactions all concentrate here. London overlap (08:00–15:30 UTC) amplifies this further, as European equity desks trade simultaneously.
Extended Session (15:30–22:00 UTC): The New York open at 09:30 ET (13:30 UTC) injects fresh momentum into European indices. AEX components with US-listed ADRs or cross-listed exposure react directly to Wall Street flows. However, by 17:30 UTC Amsterdam has closed, and price action increasingly mirrors US sentiment rather than Dutch fundamentals.
Pulsar Terminal displays real-time spread data directly on your MT5 chart, making it straightforward to spot when NED25 spreads widen beyond your acceptable threshold during Pre-Market or late Extended hours.
