The four main forex sessions are Sydney (Asian open), Tokyo (Asian prime), London (European), and New York (American). Each session has distinct volatility and liquidity characteristics. The London-New York overlap (13:00-17:00 GMT) is the most active period. Understanding sessions helps traders choose optimal trading times.
