OXY Trading Hours: Best Sessions for Occidental Petroleum

OXY follows standard NYSE session structure. Pre-market runs 10:00–14:30 UTC, the regular session opens at 14:30 UTC and closes at 21:00 UTC, and after-hours extends from 21:00 to 01:00 UTC the following day.

Pre-market activity on OXY is often driven by overnight oil futures moves or EIA inventory data releases, which frequently drop at 14:30 UTC — exactly at the regular open. That overlap creates sharp opening moves. After-hours volume spikes when OXY reports quarterly earnings, which have historically landed after 21:00 UTC. Outside of earnings, after-hours liquidity is thin and price discovery is unreliable.
